Student Art Competition in Westbourne Green Open Space

Following on from our recent success in Dance Westminster: Strictly for Everyone CWC students on discrete courses, based at the Maida Vale Campus, have been taking part in an art competition. This has been run in partnership with Continental Landscapes. Students have been offered the opportunity to replace the 6 tiles which form part of an existing sundial art installation in Westbourne Green Open Space.

These are the existing tiles:

46 Students from across the different strands of the discrete courses chose to enter a drawing/painting. Each of these students has achieved a certificate for taking part. Entries were put on display and all students from the department placed tokens in pots to vote for their 12 finalist (accessible voting).

The 12 finalist are:

These are their winning entries:

It is now over to Continental Landscapes to choose the final six. These students will then get the opportunity to learn how to install the tile in the sundial and take part in the ceremony with the local Councillor. A massive thank you to Continental Landscape for funding and offering this exciting opportunity to our students. We eagerly await the result.
