Creative Greek theatre workshop delivered to A Level students by Dionysus

Recently, a bespoke workshop on the Greek play 'Lysistrata' was held at the College. It was organised to help A Level Drama and Theatre learners to understand the mechanics of Greek Theatre in preparation for their exam in June.

The session covered the history of ancient Greece and addressed themes of femininity and masculinity. It was a practical workshop that saw A Level students working together to perform extracts from the play, with the focus very much on how to bring out the play's comedy.

The workshop was free and kindly offered by the company, which has been funded to deliver such workshops to young people in London's schools and colleges.

Darren Mawdsley, Course Manager for A Level Drama and Theatre said: 'I want to thank Will and the Actors of Dionysus for bringing this workshop to us. The learners enjoyed it and it will benefit them in their work of exploring this wonderful text.'
