Students were last week recognised by the Enrichment Team at the E-Awards ceremony which was organised to celebrate their achievements at CWC. Awards were given in a number of different categories including Most Likely to Be a Millionaire, Hostess with the Mostess, All Rounder, Most Dedicated and Most Improved, with six Jack Petchy Awards also being given to six students.
“During an Enrichment Team meeting we decided that we should organise something to celebrate the students’ achievements from us as a team, as we work with CWC’s students a bit differently to the teachers and tutors,” said Enrichment Tutor, Nadia Bellot. “We were looking at offering alternative awards which were a bit fun and different to the awards that they get at the Student Awards ceremony. We also gave out some Jack Petchey Awards – the students who received those were nominated by teachers and fellow students and then the final six were chosen.
"The students really enjoyed themselves and it was really nice to hear in their speeches that they recognised how the Enrichment team has helped them during their time studying here and how CWC overall has helped them with their confidence and enabled them to grow and develop themselves. We’ll definitely look at doing it again – it’s such a nice thing to do and it means that we can recognise the students that we work very closely with. This achievement is something they can take forward with them when they leave College and it’s our way of showing them that we recognise the great job that they do here.”
