AAQs (Advanced Applied Qualifications)

AAQs are a new generation of career-focused qualifications replacing older vocational programmes such as the BTEC Extended Diploma. They provide Level 3 study routes with a strong link to real-world skills and allow students who do not yet meet T Level entry requirements to progress while retaking English and/or Maths.

Key Features:

• Mixed assessment: coursework, employer projects, external assessments.
• Progression to university, apprenticeships or employment.

Science Pathway
Applied Science, Medical Science and Engineering AAQ (Replacing Applied Science Level 3 Extended Diploma).

Digital Pathway
Information Technology, Computing and Digital Games Production (Replacing Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT).

These two year AAQs act as a stepping‑stone, allowing students to build confidence, gain practical skills and achieve required GCSE grades before moving on to to university, apprenticeships or employment
