Construction & the Built Environment

Construction is the creation of the built environment. It is everything  around us that is human-made such as houses, roads, bridges, sports stadiums and airports.

If you are looking for a career in construction or civil engineering then our courses will help you realise that ambition.  You might be a school leaver or someone wanting to upskill.

You’ll learn from teachers with industry experience and meet industry standards though practical hands-on training and theory of the trade.  Work experience is important so full-time 16-18 students take part in work experience and work-related projects with London-based construction engineering companies.

In addition to the vocational learning, students are able to develop their English, Maths and employability skills to match the requirements demanded by industry and/or Higher Education.

Do you know…

If you are already employed in the construction and built environment sectors and looking to develop your design capability or career, there are Level 3 and Level 4 HNC part-time programmes suitable for this.

Earning Potential…

Ranging from £18,000 at entry level up to £48,000 with the potential to earn more.

What’s next?

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 course, you can progress to an advanced/higher apprenticeship in a relevant area or the HNC in Civil Engineering offered at the College. You can also choose to study a degree at a university. Future job opportunities may include building inspector, charted surveyor, civil engineer, maintenance manager, project manager, site manager and more.
