City of Westminster College has welcomed Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Kate Green, to its campus.
The Stretford and Urmston MP met with United Colleges Group Principal, Stephen Davis, to discuss the college’s success, its plans for the future, and receive a tour which involved meeting students for several different subject areas.
The Principal and Ms Green also discussed the Skills and Post-16 Education Bill and its potential positive impact as well as the possibility of applied general qualifications remaining in place longer in order to allow colleges to embed T-Levels.
Ms Green met with students studying public services, art and design, health and social care, and plumbing during her visit. She also took in the careers information centre and other areas of the campus.
The visit comes as City of Westminster College, and the United Colleges Group, celebrates Colleges Week 2021 which seeks to raise awareness of the successes of colleges across the UK.
City of Westminster College were delighted to welcome Kate Green to its campus and looks forward to working with again her in the future.
