Student Films Her Royal Highness Duchess of Cambridge on Royal Walk About

City of Westminster College student Corey, had a Royal appointment with local resident Her Royal Highness Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, when she visited Paddington Recreation Ground yesterday. Fresh back from maternity leave and on her first solo engagement the Duchess visited the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden to see how it is helping children's emotional and physical well-being.

Corey, our Level 3 Media Production student Corey, was asked by Active Westminster (who are part of Westminster Council), to film the event and she made quite an impression on him, ‘You can tell that Kate is a mother as she was so natural with the children. She came across as very down to earth and I loved her smart casual outfit too!’

The video footage will be included in the annual Active Westminster Award Ceremony at Lords Cricket Ground in December. This is the fifth year that students from CWC have collaborated on this project with Westminster Council.

Corey followed Her Royal Highness as she walked around the park, capturing footage, which will be used to promote the Forest School. Corey said, ‘It's been great being a part of a professional press pit and seeing all the work that goes into getting a shot. I was amazed at how quickly they turned around the footage as soon as Kate was out of shot, it was being edited, uploaded and spread on social media.’

In future Corey would like to make a career out of being behind the camera as he hopes to work in Television production and now he can add that he has filmed royalty to his CV.
