Universities attend Higher Education Fair at CWC

Last week, universities from various locations in the UK, attended a Higher Education (H.E.) Fair at City of Westminster College’s Paddington Green Campus. The event is the first of this academic year, with the second set to take place later on in the year. Organised by CWC’s careers advisers, it’s aimed at students who will be making UCAS applications this autumn, as well as students who have just enrolled on their first year of a Level 3 course or A Levels.

The variety of universities including: Brunel, London Metropolitan, Brunel University and University of Greenwich to name a few, provided the students with information regarding the UCAS application process, courses available and an insight into what University life is really like.

The H.E. Fair allows students to gain information easily and the College hopes to encourage students looking to go to university next year to attend upcoming Open Days. Prospective students have the opportunity to look around the campus, speak to the lecturers to find out detailed information about a course of their choice, as well as speak to the current students to get their opinion on the University.

‘We hold two HE Fairs every year as a way of encouraging our students to explore the range of courses and universities open to them by talking face to face with university staff and university student ambassadors. We hope this leads students to undertake more extensive research including attending university open days, so that they make informed decisions on their UCAS applications” said Simon Blackmore, one of CWC’s careers advisers.
