Course Content

In an era where there is a real and substantial threat through terrorism, it is important for all front-line staff to have a good understanding and an awareness of the National Counter Terrorism Strategy. This half day programme is presented by one of our Security Specialists.

The programme covers the following key areas:

  • The National Counter Terrorism Strategy
  • Terrorist groups
  • Operational Capabilities
  • Threat Levels – what they are and mean
  • Hostile Reconnaissance
  • Surveillance & Counter Surveillance
  • Explosives (IED’S)
  • Command and Control
  • Resilience - Business Continuity
  • Reporting

On successful completion you receive a City of Westminster Counter Terrorism Certificate.

Successfully completion all of the above qualifications can enable the learner to progress onto employment within the sector or related services. Individuals achieving this qualification can progress onto a range of qualifications such as the Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management. Individuals successfully completing the licence to practice qualification in Close Protection can be awarded 16 credits towards this Foundation Degree and also the Foundation Degree in Crowd and Safety Management and the Certificate in Terrorism Studies.
