City of Westminster College is continuing to celebrate queer artists this LGBTQIA+ month with an exciting panel discussion planned to take place in the theatre on 23rd February, 4:00 – 6:00pm.

LGBTQIA+ month is well underway across the United Colleges Group, and City of Westminster College’s Paddington Green Campus is no exception. On Wednesday, 23rd February 2022, the college is hosting a panel discussion with two of London’s LGBTQIA+ musicians, Parris OH and Ellie Prohan. The two will be facilitating an open discussion celebrating LGBTQIA+ artists across London and the UK’s music industries.

Starting out at 16 years old, Parris OH is a music executive with 10+ years of industry experience. Currently, the Artist Partnerships Manager at TikTok, connecting and looking after artists and opportunities for them on the leading entertainment platform. Parris navigated their way through the industry both independently and working for major companies such as RCA Records, Columbia Records, Sony Music UK, Abbey Road Studios and Wired PR. With the epicentre of what they do being explained as "completely artist focused and lead”, Parris has been an integral part of global artist campaigns and representing, curating and nurturing UK Black talent, spanning artists to execs.

We are proud to announce that joining Parris OH we have Ellie Prohan. Hailing from West London, Ellie Prohan, has fast cemented her name in the industry. Raised in a single mother Persian household, Ellie outplayed the odds by coming out with her sexuality and pursuing her dream of being an International DJ. In a short span, Ellie has organised charity events through her series Ellie Prohan & Friends for world mental health day, started a club night ‘Glo’ for the LGBTQIA+ community, created a series of DJ showcase nights and started her own cultural discovery show ‘Eat, Dance, Discover’.

Ellie’s energy and charismatic personality make her perfect for presenting, having interviewed the likes of Bugzy Malone, Ghetts, Digga D, Ari Lennox, Princess Nokia, Waka Flocka, Stefflon Don, Shaggy, Snoh Alegra, Moneybaggyo, Frisco, Br3nya, OFB Bandokay, Youngs Teflon, Lyrica Anderson, B Simone, Mhuncho amongst many more to having hosted the primetime ‘Happy Hour’ show previously on award-winning female-led station Foundation FM. Has subsequently seen Ellie’s career move forward with her becoming a cemented tastemaker in the scene and hosting her own Tuesday weekly specialist show on Kiss FM 11-1 am and the main presenter on Kiss Fresh Monday to Wednesday 7-9 pm.

This event is open to staff and students from the college, with the college community being encouraged to submit questions to equality@ucg.ac.uk beforehand for the panel to discuss.
