UCG partners with PureGym to create new work experience opportunities for students

Last week, City of Westminster College hosted PureGym in the World of Work hub to speak to our Level 2 Sports students who were eager to learn how to kickstart their careers in the fitness industry.

PureGym is one of the UK’s leading gym providers, operating over 700 sites for 2.5 million members worldwide. It was no surprise, therefore, that students were keen to hear from PureGym representative, Justin Banting, about what success looks like and how to get there. Justin outlined the range of career pathways available within PureGym, highlighting progression routes from entry-level roles through to management positions via their structured transition programme.

United Colleges Group and PureGym will be launching a student programme to help our learners access this pathway from September this year. This initiative will provide valuable work experience opportunities and a clear line of sight into potential employment within the organisation.

The talk also focused on key employability skills, including the importance of continual professional development (CPD) and how social media can be used effectively to build a personal brand and promote services. Students were introduced to the earning potential within the industry and the opportunities available to those who are passionate and committed.

This inspiring session provided our students with a clear understanding of career possibilities within the fitness industry and motivated them to consider their next steps with confidence.
