All 16-18 year-old students at City of Westminster College will follow a full-time Study Programme. Here Craig Hanlon-Smith, Deputy Director of 16-18 Programmes explains what that means.

If you have the ambition to compete in sport at the highest level, coach in an academy or become the CEO of Nike, studying Sport at City of Westminster College is the course for you.

We are ranked highly for student results and it is clear why with the excellent standard of teaching combined with exciting trips to sites including Emirates Stadium, Manchester Velodrome and Sky Sports Studios. You will also have the opportunity to represent the College in team sports. While reading from the courses on offer you will develop as an athlete, coach and personal trainer and be provided with work experience opportunities ranging from Arsenal Kicks to Fitness First, designed to give you a career path in the industry.

Each week some of your lessons will take place in our brand new sports hall and fitness suite, which offers the latest resistance training equipment with special membership rates for students.

The course provides natural progression, including a pathway onto our Higher National Diploma course and then onto a Full Bachelor Science degree in either, Sports Therapy, Sports Science, Sports Coaching Science, Sports Studies, Sports and Exercise Science, Sports massage as well as Sports Psychology with our Partnership universities, Middlesex or Derby.

We also offer CYQ Personal Training qualifications for sports enthusiasts looking to gain direct entry into the fitness industry.
