What does it include?
All students take mandatory units plus optional units as follows:

- Electronic devices
- Electrical technology
- Electronic measurement & testing
- Electronic Fault finding
- Mechanical principles
- Further Electrical Principles
- Further Mathematics for Technicians
What do I need to get on to it?
You will normally need to have one of the following: A merit level BTEC level 2 Diploma in a related subject Engineering At least four GCSEs at grades A-C including Mathematics, English and Science.
Mature students may gain entry to the course by a successful interview. Students may also gain entry to the 2nd year of the course if they have already completed first year units.
The application and Interview process
All applicants will have an interview with the course tutor. You will also be given initial assessments in literacy and numeracy.
How will I be assessed?
Your progress will be assessed by successful completion of College-devised assignments.
Where does it lead?
The BTEC Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A levels. Many students progress from the course to University.
