Fashion Design is not just about catwalk shows. This course will help you understand how designers undertake their process and will introduce you to the principles of fashion design. You will learn that creating a design is not a mystical affair, but simply about researching, developing and reinventing an inspiring theme.

Once you have confidence in your designs, you will be well on the way to convincing clients and employers to have confidence in you!

By the end of this course you will have developed confidence in your abilities and will be developing your own design ideas. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to express your own unique style. And of course, a passion for fashion!

This 6 week course will open your eyes and challenge you. It will help you learn how to express yourself confidently while you produce your very own design sample.

Wonderful opportunities for fashion students to visit museums, the fashion district and to see designer fabrics. One day tour to inspire your exploration of London. Previous visits have included Savile Row,V&A and Somerset House. London has some of the best museums and designer shops and for designer fabrics.

About the tutor:

Lorraine Mitchell is an experienced fashion designerr and teacher. She runs workshops at the Victoria & Albert museum and has many contacts in the tailoring industry.
