CWC's Student Awards ceremony celebrates student achievements

04/07/2018

Last week a number of students were recognised for their outstanding achievements at City of Westminster College’s Student Awards ceremony. The event, which was held at the College’s Sarah Siddons Theatre, took place in front of fellow students and their guests, sponsors, stakeholders and members of staff.

A number of students from a wide variety of courses completed presentations in between awards. Carrie-Jayne, an A-Level student talked about her experience with the Archant student takeover where she had the opportunity to write articles for the Ham&High newspaper. Level 3 Business student Joshua Okakpu talked to the audience about ‘The Big Idea Challenge’ which he was involved in.

A number of success stories further emphasised the worthiness of this year’s student award winners. School of A Levels winner Abigail Agyemang has been given a conditional offer from Cambridge University to study Psychology and Behavioural Sciences. Creative Industries winner Daniel Lewis has been awarded ‘Students Choice Player of the year’ and ‘Outstanding Attendance’ awards at Christmas and Easter gigs put on by his fellow classmates.

There were 22 awards handed out during the evening, including the coveted Principal’s Award. Following the presentation of the awards, guests were served canapés and drinks.
