Students take on live multi-camera video production for Awards Ceremony

A team of City of Westminster College students have ensured that the Active Westminster Awards went off without a hitch by providing it with a camera crew.

The group of level 3 media students stepped into the role of multi-camera video production crew for the awards which celebrate those who make Westminster a great place to be active.

This year’s awards were attended by the Mayor of London as well as UK Paralympic hero Vanessa Wallace MBE among other important figures.

Prior to the awards, the team were professionally coached by Sky Sports Presenter David Garrido, who also hosted the ceremony.

In the lead up, the students also compiled a series of news packages themed around the awards and put together sports and dance sequences.

The students, Mitra Kantharuban, Alexander Winters, Neo Bhatia, Granit Osmanaj, Rutva Jaiantkumar and Meredith Madeleine all benefited massively from the valuable experience and gained not only crucial skills but additional confidence in their abilities.

City of Westminster College, and the United Colleges Group, is proud of all the students who were part of this team and congratulates them on their hard work and success.

Stephen Davis, Group Principal of the United Colleges Group, said:

“Our media students are a talented, driven, and professional bunch and the way they have conducted themselves throughout the Active Westminster Awards has shown this.

“They have gone above and beyond what would normally be asked of them, shown initiative, and worked well as a team.

“Each of them should know that their college, and our group, is very proud of them.”
