All 16-18 year-old students at City of Westminster College will follow a full-time Study Programme. Here Craig Hanlon-Smith, Deputy Director of 16-18 Programmes explains what that means.

The School of Vocational Science combines the academic studies of traditional subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) with industry specific skills.

We offer courses to all age groups, including those that can lead to a range of scientific careers such as Biomedical Science, Forensic Science, Pharmacy, Medical Science and Radiography to name a few.

Considering the current economic climate, it is important to us that our students leave their course with the highest level of employability skills possible. With this is in mind, the School of Vocational Science is an affiliate member of the British Science Association and Royal Society of Chemistry. In addition to this we are active supporters of the WorldSkills UK competition which is part of Find a Future, a new organisation which brings together the Nation’s flagship skills and careers experiences.

Our range of courses offer learning options for all, with BTEC levels 1-3 aimed at students moving from secondary to further education. For adult learners who may not have been in education for some time we have Access to HE Diplomas.
