New 16-18 Bursary
This funding is to support the most vulnerable students as defined by the government.

If you are: 16-18 and in care, a care leaver or living alone and in receipt of Income Support in your own right you will be eligible for a bursary of up to £1200 a year.  Please ensure that you see one of the Student Advice Team early so we can ensure that you receive funding as soon as possible after the start of the course.
All other 16-18 year olds will have to apply for the general Bursary Fund.  This will be means tested and payments will be linked to your attendance and punctuality, behaviour and completion of work.

Continuing 16-18 year olds
If you applied for EMA in 2009/10 and have a 3 year guarantee you will be eligible for payments at the level agreed in 2009/10.  If you applied for EMA in 2010/11 and you were awarded the full £30.00 allocation you will be eligible for EMA payments of £20.00 per week.

EMA will not be available to any new students starting college in 2011/12 or to students who received EMA in 2010/11 and were awarded either £20.00 or £10.00 per week.
