This funding is to support the most vulnerable students as defined by the government.
If you are: 16-18 and in care, a care leaver or living alone and in receipt of Income Support in your own right or in receipt of DLA & ESA you will be eligible for a bursary of up to £1200 a year. Please ensure that you see one of the Student Advice Team early so we can ensure that you receive funding as soon as possible after the start of the course.
If you are : 16-18 and from a low income family you may be eligible for financial support from the 16-19 Mainstream bursary.
All bursary payments require students to reach 90% attendance and punctuality in order for payments to be approved. The mainstream bursary is allocated on a discretionary basis and being eligible does not guarantee funding.
Click here to download the 'Money to Study Help for 16-19 year olds' leaflet.
All other 16-18 year olds will have to apply for the general Bursary Fund. This will be means tested and payments will be linked to your attendance and punctuality, behaviour and completion of work.
For more information please contact our Student Advice Team.
