Duration of Course: 2 years part time.
What does it include?
There are twelve units to complete, six core units plus six optional units:

· Science and Materials in Construction and the Built
Environment
· Construction Technology and Design in Construction and Civil Engineering
· Construction in Civil Engineering
Specialist optional units:
· Further Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment
· Surveying in Construction and Civil Engineering
· Structural Mechanics in Construction and Civil Engineering
· Employer-Related Project in Construction and the Built Environment
· Graphical Detailing in Construction and the Built Environment
· ICT and CAD in Construction and the Built Environment
What do I need to get on to it?
You need to have an interest in Construction/Engineering and a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade c or above in Maths, English, and Science/Technology. All applicants will be interviewed
Where does it lead?
BTEC Level 3 National Certificate and Diploma in Civil Engineering are designed to provide a broad introduction to working in the sector and offer opportunities for accessing further study, such as a BTEC Higher National qualification or access to University.
