Duration of course: One year, full time.
Where does it lead? The course is an intermediate level course preparing for work as an ICT practitioner. It can also be taken as an entry qualification to the BTEC National Diploma in ICT or Computing.
What does it include? The course covers all aspects of the application of Information and Computer Technology.
Subjects studied include: ØIntroduction to Computer Studies ØUses of ICT ØInformation Systems ØIntroduction to Database ØE-Commerce ØWeb Development
In addition you will have classes designed to improve your numeracy and communication skills.
Assessments on the course will be done using externally and internally assessed assignments.
What do I need to get on to it? You need to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D IN English and Maths or a GNVQ Foundation ICT at grade Merit or above. All applicants will be interviewed.
