Roundhouse CEO speaks to CWC students

Marcus Davey, the Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Roundhouse, visited City of Westminster College to talk about the importance of creativity and the creative subjects to our Performing Arts, A Level, Business and Public Services students as part of the Speakers for Schools Creativity, Arts and Culture in State Schools.

Marcus gave students a brief history of the Roundhouse and its transformation from an old train shed almost 50 years ago. Last year the Roundhouse worked with over 5,000 young individuals including 500 projects abroad in: Ukraine and Kenya.

During the Q+A session the students wanted to find out more about the Roundhouse and how they can get involved in the creative industries.

The Roundhouse offers creative projects in music, media and performing arts available to anyone aged 11 - 25 years old. Music projects might involve starting your own band, joining a choir or ensemble and getting support with recording or performing. Their performing arts projects cover a broad range of performance skills, including acrobatics, street circus, spoken word and performance, cabaret, contemporary theatre or poetry. Media projects include everything from software workshops, web design and coding, video production, advertising, radio skills and blogging. Each project will have a different skill level, either beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Tickets are £2 per session or an annual membership for £20.
