Students participate in International Competition with College in Kazakhstan

For the fourth year running, City of Westminster College participated in an international competition, to recognise and inspire the development in Computer Graphics. Students from our college have worked closely with students from a similar educational institution, College Turan from Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

 

The topics  suggested by our Kazakh partners for entries were:

 

    “A City to Visit”

    “Historic Features and Natural Monuments of my country”

     “My Future Profession”

    “In the World of IT”

 

or “Any other topic of the student’s cho

ice”

 

Deputy Principal David Pigden led a panel of staff from College Turan and CWC, to judge the exceptionally high standard of work submitted by students from both colleges.

 

City of Westminster College as well as Turan College, held an Award Ceremony to congratulate the winners of the competition. The winners were awarded with a Certificate of Commendation for four different categories: best computer graphics, best advertising/ entertainment video/ computer animations, best created website. In addition, the winning entry in each category, by a student from our college received a voucher.

 

Max Morton, the Head of School for ICT said, “Every year our students display skills developed on their courses, when taking part in the international competition with Kazakhstan. This year they have once again demonstrated, that they are a credit to both themselves and their teachers, and are with out a doubt, worthy winners.
