For the fourth year running,
City of Westminster College and global security software company Trend Micro
are pleased to once again present a photography exhibition featuring work by
the students of City of Westminster College’s BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma
and Extended Diploma Photography courses. The theme this year
has been based around ‘The Internet of Things’ or IoT, with the students
working with ideas around the theme ‘Our Connected World’.
The
exhibition Launched on Thursday 22nd March with a private view at Trend Micro’s
offices in Paddington Basin. Currently
Trend Micro offer four bursaries – students progressing from first year to
their second year can apply, as well as those moving from their third year to a
HE course.
The event is the
result of a partnership between the two organisations which was formed in 2014,
designed to enhance and develop the students’ study and employability
opportunities. As part of the preparation for this exhibition, IT experts from Trend
Micro visited students at the college to discuss data protection and
security.
Nathan Loughran, Head of
School for Creative Industries said, “We are really excited to be building on
the partnership with Trend Micro that began four years ago. Trend Micro provide
an amazing opportunity for our students to work on a project that provides them
with experience to be exhibited within a vibrant environment. They have been
very supportive to our students allowing them the artistic freedom to respond
to the exhibition theme as they wish. We are very proud of our students who
have done an excellent job this year.”
