CWC held an LGBT + TEA party

The College recently held an LGBT+ Equali-TEA party in the atrium of our Paddington Green Campus.  Staff and students enjoyed tea and rainbow cake in a large marquee decorated with LGBT+ rainbow flag bunting.

The Equali-TEA party was part of a Stonewall campaign, bringing family, friends, colleagues and students together giving them the opportunity to discuss how best to support students, tutees and student friends who may identify as LGBT+ with the college’s LGBT+ community.

We also launched a ‘Sign the Pledge and Wear the Badge’ campaign, where members of the College community were invited to wear a CWC LGBT+ badge, which signifies a commitment to provide active support for any member of the College’s LGBT+ community, including talking positively to others about our LGBT+ students and staff.

Craig Hanlon-Smith, the College’s Director of Business, Arts & Continuing Education said ‘It was great to welcome so many people – staff and students – to this event, and for almost 200 people to sign up to the pledge to support the LGBT+ community across the organisation. We intend to run many more events like this throughout the year.’
