CWC Teacher Training students attend graduation ceremony

On Friday 20th October the College held its annual Teacher Training. The ceremony recognises the achievements of our Level 5 trainees from a range of Teacher Training courses at the College including specialist diplomas in English and Mathematics.

This is the sixth consecutive year that the ceremony has taken place. Pete Sharrocks (Head of Teaching & Training) explains “The idea originally came about when the department decided to run a full-time PGCE university style course for new teachers, it seemed like a good idea to try and replicate a university style graduation. It was a great success, so we decided to do it every year!”

The event is less formal than typical graduation events, but graduates still get to dress up in gowns and mortar boards, have their names read out and are presented with their certificates by our Campus Principal Jackie Grubb. Jackie gave an inspiring speech to the audience, which included many proud parents and friends of the graduates.  The event is always very well received and we aim to continue with it to celebrate the excellent achievements of our trainees, some of whom are our own College staff.
