City of Westminster College’s Queens Park Campus celebrated the opening of Café Bleu recently, with Director of Faculty of Community Studies Des Reardon performing the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The café is a training venue for students with learning disabilities, and it was refurbished by students who are on a painting and decorating course here at the College. As the name suggests, the café has a blue colour-scheme and features colourful murals showing some of the key ingredients on the café’s menu.
City of Westminster College runs a range of well-established courses at Queens Park Campus for young people with mild to moderate and severe learning disabilities. These include Learning for Living, Learning for Work and Skills for Working Life. The café offers a practical way for students to learn key skills for independent living and for the world of employment.
The College’s full programme of Building Services & Construction Courses operates from the new Paddington Green Campus, where students benefit from bespoke specialist workshops and facilities for practical sessions.
