City of Westminster College photography student Robert Attard is one of five winners of Free Range’s first Art Awards.
Free Range, which begins this Friday 4 June, is the UK’s largest exhibition of work by graduate artists, designers and photographers. These Awards are to mark Free Range’s 10th year at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane.
The winners were chosen by a distinguished panel from the art industry, including Director of Exhibitions at the Royal Academy Kathleen Soriano and Director and Founder of Free Range Tamsin O’Hanlon.
Robert, who has been studying photography for the past two years at the College, won the award for his stunningly bold portrait ‘Mandy’. He says of the work: “Mandy is one of my own favourite works, as I feel that it represents me as a photographer. Despite the photo not being staged, I wanted it to look as much like a painting as possible.”
You can see Robert’s winning work, along with other exhibits from the College’s talented graduates at Free Range. The exhibition has moved on from the College, where it featured work by BTEC National Diploma, HNC and Foundation Degree students.
