Star Awards
The Faculty of Culture, Media and Sport celebrated the success of four students in their first STAR awards. Students were nominated by tutors for their exceptional qualities.

Jane Baker, Director of the Faculty of Culture, Media and Sport said “It was fantastic to recognize the qualities of hard work, determination, friendship and achievement of these students. It was a real pleasure to meet their friends and family, and to hear from the tutors, the family and the students themselves about their experience at City of Westminster College.”

STAR Award winner, Ersen Ermis who studied for an AVCE in Media and AS Film Studies said "City of Westminster College has been very good. I’ve been here for 3 years. I first completed a GNVQ course in Media, then progressed onto the AVCE in Media course. Next year I’ll be studying Media and Cultural Studies at Kingston University. I have enjoyed my time at CWC; the teaching is good, and I have always received the support I need."

Diane Nyero, BTEC National Diploma Travel and Tourism student really appreciated the support she was given on her course. "With Travel and Tourism I found it required students to be very dedicated. It is a challenging course, but I believe that with the support from the tutors and through working hard, regardless of personal identity, one can succeed. I have enjoyed the course very much."

Josephine Djoboga, a student on the Progression Award in Sport added "The teachers are really friendly. It is a completely different atmosphere from school - everyone is very welcoming. Teachers were always there to help. I have had a great time at City of Westminster College. The course has got me where I want to be."

Fellow Award Winner Justyna Hapon, who studied BTEC First Diploma in Sports Science was delighted with her award and said "The teachers were so helpful; I really got along with them. I really enjoyed being a student with City of Westminster College, and found the library to be so useful. Everything was perfect."

We wish all the STAR Award winners very best wishes for their future!
