City of Westminster College Prince’s Trust Team 10 and 11 students had a treat in store when they came together at Lord’s for a special indoor cricket session.
After their game they were privileged to be introduced to legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, Sachin (aka Master Blaster) was impressed by the energy of the Team students and posed for a picture with them – making this a truly memorable end to their day at the official home of English cricket.
City of Westminster College runs Team in conjunction with The Prince’s Trust. The highly successful 12-week programme builds skills and confidence through a combination of work experience, practical skills, community projects and a residential week. Students – who are all unemployed young people aged from 16-25 – also gain a nationally recognised qualification to assist them in moving on to further study or into employment.
Recently City of Westminster College has made more places available on the programme. This enables the College and The Prince’s Trust to assist many more young people find new directions and increase their skills and confidence.
