Paddington Green Campus shortlisted for New London Awards
City of Westminster College Paddington Green Campus has been shortlisted for the inaugural NLA New London Awards, which recognise the capital’s best building projects.

The Awards are organised by the NLA (New London Architecture), an independent organisation that exists to focus attention on London’s built environment and issues of planning, architecture and construction.

Shortlisted buildings can be completed or on the drawing board and are considered on the basis of design excellence, respect for local context and innovative and efficient use of resources (which comprises construction, maintenance and proposed building lifespan).

The Awards will be judged by an eminent international jury, including Commissioner of New York City’s Department of Design and Construction David J. Burney, Director of Paris’s Pavillon de L’Arsenal Dominique Alba and City Design Leader of Edinburgh City Council Riccardo Marini.

The shortlist has been divided into key sectors of the built environment, including Learning, Staying, Playing, Visiting and Working. Other shortlisted buildings for the first NLA New London Awards include Mint Hotel, Tower of London; London 2012 Olympic Stadium; The Tate Modern Project and Royal Opera House Production Workshop.

All shortlisted buildings will form the basis of a 12-month New London Projects exhibition at the NLA galleries at Store Street in the West End. They will also feature in a special edition of the publication New London Quarterly in the summer. Winners will be announced at the Guildhall, City of London on 12 July.
