City of Westminster College student James Bellamy has secured a coveted lead role in a West End show playing one of his musical idols. James, 17, a student on our BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts course, has been cast as a young Stevie Wonder in the Cambridge Theatre’s hit musical ‘Dancing in the Streets’.
James said: ‘I never believed I would be in a West End show. There are plenty of people who have worked their whole life to get where I am.’
Last year, James also appeared on ITV1’s ‘X Factor’ talent show and got down to the final 21. We wish James lots of luck in his first major stage role.
