Colleges Week celebrations at City of Westminster College
The second national Colleges Week begins today and City of Westminster College is proud to be supporting this nationwide celebration of the opportunities further education institutions create for individuals, for businesses and for Britain as a whole.
As well as running promotions across our five campuses, we are hosting events and spotlighting initiatives celebrating key themes and messages of Colleges Week 2009. These include:

Participating in a unique Offstage Choices careers event at London’s Piccadilly Theatre to promote technical and support careers in theatre, performance and broadcast – all part of the College’s work as a founder of the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills.

Profiling one learner who has benefited from the College’s Response to Redundancy programme, gaining renewed confidence and motivation and valuable skills to assist with future employment opportunities.

Going behind the scenes at a College Parents’ Evening and speaking to students and their guardians who have joined us in order to discuss progress, future ambitions and learn more about the many education and training opportunities we offer.

Revealing more about City of Westminster College’s role in promoting Olympic values via the Get Set network – and our initiatives to offer training designed to open up employment and volunteering opportunities for the London 2012 Games themselves.

Principal Keith Cowell, who took up his leadership role at City of Westminster College just two weeks ago says: “I am proud to be leading City of Westminster College at this exciting time and fully support the aims and ambitions of Colleges Week 2009. This is a great opportunity to celebrate and publicise the vital role we play in increasing opportunities and developing talent, supporting business and enterprise and engaging with the communities we serve.”
