City of Westminster College basketball team had an accomplished season playing in the London Pioneers Parliament League. The team won five out of eight fixtures played, with a final total of 18 points – earning them second place in the League. Congratulations to the team for all their hard work and commitment, which has definitely paid off.
The Parliament League comprises City of Westminster College, Ealing Hammersmith and West London College, S FX (Saint Francis Xavier), Harlington Community School and South Thames College – and each team played all opponents twice.
City of Westminster College’s basketball team has now been playing for four years, under the expert leadership of London Pioneers co-founder Tony Lazare and coach Akthar Habib, both of whom work in the College's enrichment programme.
Training sessions are free and usually take place twice a week during term time. The College is privileged to use the excellent full-sized court at nearby Little Venice Sports Centre as a venue for training and home games.
Sessions start again next September and we look forward to seeing you then – either as a player or a supporter cheering on our winning team!
