The national statistics for the National Success Rate Tables have been released with City of Westminster College being placed at the top of the table for Health, Public Services and Care. CWC placed first nationally across all age ranges for the courses, echoing the success the college’s Travel and Tourism and Sport courses achieved last year, ranking top in the UK.

Covering the academic year 2013/14, the figures emphasise the fantastic opportunities available to students at CWC, with the college’s focus currently on employability, ensuring students are given the best opportunities possible. A number of the college courses include visits by high profile guest speakers including, more recently, Miriam Gonzalez and employability workshops from companies including Barclays bank.

“We’ve worked really hard in terms of making sure that our students know what it is expected of them before they start the course” said Selina Norman, Head of School for Leisure, Health and Public Services (pictured). “There is a lot of discipline involved and the tutors all clearly set out their expectations and we also have really good links with parents and support services. We’ve formalised and standardised everything from Level 1 right up to Level 3 and we’re lucky to have outstanding teachers who are vigilant in tracking the learner – setting them targets and making sure they remain focused.”
