On Friday 12th May, City of Westminster College hosted the launch of the third “My Westminster” project at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in Pall Mall, London.
Over the last three years, City of Westminster College has worked with leading employers in the media to provide pupils from local schools with the opportunity to work with the latest digital technology in creating short films about their lives in Westminster. The project is open to young people from all schools across the Borough of Westminster. This year, the schools that were able to participate were St Augustine’s CE High School, The Grey Coat Hospital CE Comprehensive School for Girls and The St Marylebone CE School.
It was a great honour to welcome Sir Simon Milton, Leader of Westminster City Council at the event in this prestigious venue. Sir Simon handed out certificates to all the filmmakers after the films were played and the students had the opportunity to have their picture taken with him. Robin Shreeve, principal of City of Westminster College and Jude Boardman, Chair of Governors were also among the guests. Everybody was very impressed with the work that was shown and we look forward in anticipation to seeing what this wonderful collaboration between the college, schools and employers will produce next year.
