What does the course include?
The Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology can help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to work in the electrotechnical industry.
You'll learn about underlying principles of electrotechnology, health and safety and effective working practices. You'll also gain skills and knowledge in a specialist area - such as electrical maintenance, installing instrumentation or highway electrical systems.
It helps you gain the underlying knowledge to progress onto an electrotechnical NVQ.
What do you need to get on the course?
Ideally you should already have a C&G 2330 Level 2 Certificate. You might be working in the area already, but you don't need a work placement to take the qualification.
You can take the qualification as part of an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship.
The application and interview process
All candidates are initially assessed in Mathematics and English prior to being interviewed by the programme manager. If employed you must bring a work related reference to the interview.
How is the course assessed?
There is one online multiple choice test, two written examinations and two practical assignments.
Where does it lead?
In combination with a Level 3 NVQ you are just a short step away from being able to register as a fully qualified electrician. Most successful candidates stay with us to take specialist short course electrotechnical qualifications such as the 17th edition and L3 Inspection and Testing.
