Course content

You should consider this course which is highly experimental and exploratory giving you the opportunity to discover a range of different discplines and practices. This course provides you with an immersive Fine Art and Digital platform allowing you to explore visual art and communication. Fine Art is a combination of drawing, painting, sculpture, installation art, conceptual ideas and concept art, commercial graphics, sound, textiles and photography. You will explore fine art ideas and have the opportunity to explore them through many varied outcomes.

You will study a pathway throughout the year with combined specialisms:

Drawing: illustration, painting, visual arts and communications
Digital media: commercial graphics, photoshop, illustrator and photography
Interdiscplinary practices installation and performance art
2D and 3D sculpture mixed media sculpture work
Contextual studies: creative writing, reflective writing and blogging

Graphics designer, fine artist, architecture, web designer, sculpture artist, conceptual artist, writer, blogger, fashion editor and many more.


How will I learn?

Through project assessment, taught lectures, informal tutorials, peer assessment, studio setting and self-assessment in a holistic creative envionment.


How will I be assessed?

Though a series of units related to projects which will be assessed throughout the year.


How much time should I be expected to spend on assignments, projects, feild trips etc.?

To successfully complete the course you will need to spend 10-15 hours of independent study per week.

Portfolio of past or current work
Independent art work
Commitment and enthusiasm
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English

Fees shown are set against the current year (August 2016 to July 2017) and are subject to change when Government funding changes are announced.

All our full time further education courses (Entry to Level 3) are free if you are 16-18 years old and meet UK residency requirements. Depending on your circumstances, you may also be eligible for financial support to help with other costs associated with your course such as free school meals and travel.

If you are  enrolling onto a Level 3 or 4 course and aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.
