What does the course include?
This course is a comprehensive introduction for anyone considering a career in crowd management or event management. The qualification aims to provide an introduction to the role of an event steward and to develop an understanding of the principles of spectator control.
The course covers:
- Introduction to stewarding at spectator events
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of stewards and other staff at spectator events
- Steward preparation at spectator events
- Checking for and responding to hazards at spectator event venues
- Controlling the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
- Recognising and responding to illegal and prohibited items at spectator events
- Dealing with challenging customer behaviour at spectator events
- Recognising and responding to potential crowd problems at spectator events
- Recognising and responding to illegal and unsociable behaviour at spectator events
- Responding to injuries and illnesses on a first on scene basis
What do I need to get on to the course?
There are no formal entry requirements; however we will require payment in full prior to commencement of the course. You may be required to sit an initial assessment, to ensure you are at an appropriate level to succeed in the course.
How is the course assessed?
The course will be assessed through a multiple choice examination plus a physical assessment.
Where does the course lead?
You will receive a Level 2 qualification in Event Stewarding.
