What does the course include?

Your lecturing team combine over 35 years of experience in the sports industry and academia. The department offers a personalised university experience that will inspire you to get the best from your degree and offer unrivalled sporting and employment links.
Among your first year modules are anatomy and physiology, and training and fitness they will be delivered by YMCA qualified instructors and coaches and sports therapist employed by Premier League clubs.

What do I need to get on to the course?
Course entry requirements: A-Level 240 points, (three C’s), BTEC Level 3 MMM, you will also have or be working towards GCSE English and Maths grade C. Interview, character reference and proof of grades required, and there is the possibility of literacy and numeracy assessment.
How is the course assessed?
The qualification is assessed by 100% course work. The assessments are set in a variety of innovative ways and can include presentations, written reports and practical demonstrations.
Where does it lead?
The City of Westminster College offers a number of progression routes for ambitious sports students. After completing the Higher National Diploma programmes at City of Westminster College, you will then complete your third year BSc Hons in Sport Science at the University of Middlesex.
University of Middlesex ranks third nationally for students finding work after graduating. During your studies at City of Westminster College your will have the opportunity to gain work experience with a number of leading sports companies, and be part of Chelsea Foundation programme that offers working experience with the Premier League giants.
You will also be encouraged to take up a number of the coaching and fitness qualifications we offer, and will be supported to take up work experience with one of the multitude of sports companies based in the capital.
Degrees in Sport Science can lead to careers as diverse and trading equities to being the CEO of Nike.

Where is it based?
The degree is based at our Paddington Green Campus. The £120 million RIBA awarding winning building includes a fully furbished modern gym, a dance studio and large scale sports hall facilities equipped to Sport England standards. Our Paddington Rec facility also has an athletics track and 3G football field.
