​An opportunity to develop your acting skills with an ‘acting to camera’ focus.  Using a range of improvisation and scripted exercises the course will guide you through some fundamental techniques that will help you to develop truthful and spontaneous acting, specifically for the camera. You also learn about the technical essentials of camera set-ups such as, types of shot, camera angles, hitting marks and continuity of action and how they impact on your performance. Filmed in our television studio you will be guided through a series of scripted scenes and monologues, giving you the opportunity of critically analysing your development within a supportive group context.


 

Biography

David Baker is an experienced actor, director, acting tutor and drama practitioner with over twenty years experience of working professionally in film, theatre and Radio and Television. He was an Artistic Associate and Director of Creative Learning at Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith and has also taught acting for Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Education Service and for companies such as
Act-Up.
