A-levels

All our A-levels are based at our state-of-the-art Paddington Green Campus (PGC). We offer a wide selection of academic subjects and you will study for AS levels in your first year and A2 levels in your second year. Successful completion of both an AS and A2 level in the same subject leads to a full A-level qualification.

Whether you take three or four subjects at AS level will depend on how well you do at GCSE level. You will normally specialise in three subjects at A2 level. The College has an excellent track record in the teaching of core Sciences, Maths, Humanities, Arts and English. Our students achieve better results than predicted and the pass rate is very high in all subjects.

We also offer a range of support to help you succeed, including homework classes, English language support, learning support and workshops in IT, numeracy and study skills.

General entry requirements:

To study three subjects at AS level, you will need to pass six GCSE subjects at grade A*-C, including English Language. To study four subjects, you need seven GCSE passes at grade A*-C, including English Language, with at least two subjects passed at grade B or above.

Regardless of how many subjects you apply for, the expectation is that your GCSE qualifications will be obtained through examination and be full courses. Other qualifications are valued and help us understand your strengths, but we will assess your application on your predicted or known GCSE grades only.

Students with previous A-level experience, including re-sit applications

Applications from students who have previously studied A-levels, either at AS or A2 level, including those seeking to re-sit, will be considered on a case-by-case basis only, even where general or subject-specific entry criteria are met.
